SPECIAL MEETING IN DECEMBER

For all members, we will gather about 6:30 p.m. at available tables of the Soup Kitchen (look for the Group); you should go through the line and get the items that you wish to eat as you come in. It may take a little time for you to decide, so come a little early so you can make your selection and bring it back to the meeting.

We can have some time to get acquainted and exchange ideas and comments about our experience with computers. This will be a good time to think about what a Computer User would like to have for Christmas. We will have some suggestions about new items that are on the market that will make your use of the computer more convenient. You can share you idea of what you would like to have for Christmas, but - as to actually getting that item - you will have to take it up with Santa Claus. We can also share our experience with ordering items online.

Everybody come and enjoy.

ANOTHER SHORT COURSE - WINDOWS 7

If people have purchased new computers recently, they have probably now encountered a PC that uses the Windows 7 Operating System. Also, some people may be considering a new computer that will have that operating system installed.
Especially for those members who did not attend the Short Course on Vista this year, the course on Windows 7, which is very similar to Vista in many way, will be presented for users of Windows 7.
We will meet at the Senior Center on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room. Then we will meet on following Thursdays until the course is complete. This will be a presentation in the series "Proffessor Teaches" from Individual Software, which provides a series of presentations and demonstrations.
Many features of WINDOWS 7 will be similar to those you encountered with VISTA; however, some features are new. One significant difference is the method that you use for storing files and retreve. In a similar manner, the programs that you wish to execute can be called up by name rather than clicking an Icon.
This course will be open to anyone in the community who is interested. Please pass the word.
